Street Fighter 6 is still a pretty new game. While we’ve gittern quite a few early fighting game esports events for the title, players are really still breaking down into what’s possible in the game. That means there might be quite a bit of tech not yet founded, intended and unintended by the developers. One particularly recent discovery of new Street Fighter 6 tech has already been banned from Capcom.
With Street Fighter 6 esports having a record-breaking prize pool and, so far, registrations for events like EVO 2023 being off the charts, it makes sense that Capcom is taking extra care with the rules. Most recently, this has meant moving to squash a new bit of tech before it can take hold. The decision has been met with quite a bit of approval from players as it was particularly broken, but it’s an example of how much there still is to learn about Street Fighter 6.

New Street Fighter 6 Tech
One move that’s been worked on quite a bit recently has become pretty powerful in the newly emerging meta of Street Fighter 6. Players have discovered a throw tech that enables players to guard against throws and normal in the corner. This addresses one of the harder parts of most Street Fighter 6 character mechanics, the dangerous corner game in the new title.
This allows you to get guards in easily. Usually, a tech like this would be considered a more advanced technique that’s been discovered through players labbing the game and grinding to get better at fighting games, not an exploit of some kind of bug. The tech has been pretty divisive though, with some players thinking it was an unintentional feature that shouldn’t be allowed. Capcom has had to step in and settle things before the new Street Fighter 6 tech actually gets used at competitive events.
