The Playoffs bracket
Below you can find the entire schedule of the LEC Spring Playoffs, which starts on Apr. 17th. With the new LEC format, the top 4 teams will compete in a double-elimination bracket, giving more chances for teams to prove their worth. The winner will not only qualify as the first seed for MSI, but it will also get a direct ticket to the LEC 2023 Season Finals.
Round 1
- Monday, Apr. 17th – 18:00 CET – Upper bracket (1st match) – VIT vs BDS
- Friday, Apr. 21st – 18:00 CET – Lower bracket (1st match) – MAD vs G2 Esports
Round 2
- Saturday, 22nd – 18:00 CET – Lower bracket (2nd match) – VIT vs TBD
Round 3 (Finals)
- Sunday, Apr. 23rd – 18:00 CET – Finals – BDS vs TBD
Based on the seeding, the #1 teams from each group Team Vitality and Team BDS will go to the upper bracket. G2 and MAD, instead, will be in the lower bracket, meaning that one loss will knock them out of contention.
Who is going to MSI with G2? – Championship points and possible combinations
We already know that G2 Esports will be going to MSI, having won the LEC Winter Split. That said, there is another slot up for grabs, which will give the team direct access to the playoffs stage at the international tournament.
There are two different scenarios that might unfold, so let’s take a look at them one by one.
G2 Wins the Spring Split – in this case, G2 will go directly to the playoff stage at MSI, with the second seed (play-in stage) chosen based on the total amount of Championship points. In this case, MAD Lions would be the team with the most points, regardless of how they perform in the playoff bracket.
