Pro Gaming League Lands In China After Sealing Deal With the Asian Esports Streaming Giant Huya.Com

With the most world recognised Chinese language Dota-2 casters, Latam’s leading esports gaming platform sponsored by Movistar will connect with the world’s most influential esports audience.

For the progressively relevant Dota 2 in South America, the Movistar Liga Pro Gaming reached an unprecedented milestone. For the first time in a Peruvian local league, it has managed to consolidate a partnership with one of the most influential streaming platforms in Asia, Huya.com, where content creators and brands exist together in a continuous cycle of exciting experience creation for audiences, where esports is one of its principal contents and have successfully captivated the Asian public.

The agreement will commence from Thursday, July 2 at 3 p.m. Peru time with the inaugural Showmatch in which Beastcoast, Latin America’s leading Dota 2 team will participate. Live Media Esports Entertainment in collaboration with Huya who will be responsible for casting and reporting entirely in the Chinese dialect and the live master stream will be produced from the new Live Media studios. The SA ‘s premier eSports league will be aired on the Chinese soil  with professional Dota 2 pro scene launchers and analysis companies like BurNIng, rOtk666, Luo Feichi 430 (骆 非 池 430), Longdd and axx 啊夏夏.

Luis Carrillo Pinto, CEO of Live Media Esports Entertainment, regarded as one of the most innovative startups in Peru, commented on this new international partnership: “It is a giant step in the internationalization of our content. With the Tencent Group supporting Huya , they have one of the world’s biggest audiences, with the ability to reach up to 151 million monthly active users on the platform,. Huya also owns one of the largest audiences around the globe. 

Currently,  the live streaming platform owns exclusive broadcast rights in China for Tencent, the League of Legend of European Championship (LEC), League of Legends North America Championship (LCS), and the League of Legends Champions of Korea (LCK), alongside broadcasting rights for League of Legends Pro League (LPL) in china. 

Huya has also entered into a streaming partnership with esports organisation Team Liquid, Korean organisation Team Griffin, and recently collaborated with Team Secret. What’s new and exciting now is that Pro Gaming League will have a customised channel and contents particularly designed in Chinese dialect from Peru.

The creator of the Pro Gaming League summarised that the time has come to demonstrate that electronic sports in Peru is world class. Infamous Gaming, the current Beastcost list that ranked eighth in The International 2019 championship, is a reflection of the great potential of Dota 2 players that exists in the country. Before the pandemic, eSports players were viewed as second-class athletes, and today there are no media outlets that don’t speak daily about the growth of competitive video games.
