Olympic Council Of Asia and Global Esports Federation Team Up To Promote, Develop Esports

His Excellency Sheik Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, President of the Asian Olympic Council, has announced that, based on advice from its Board of Directors, the OCA, has formed a partnership with the Global Esports Federation to aid the development of esports on the continent of Asia. 

This key partnership will serve as inspiration to millions of Asian youth, as Asia is already boasting the largest number of  esports players, some of whom have already made a name for themselves as the most talented and exhilarating athletes, technical innovators and trailblazers in the heterogenous esports community.

 Sheikh Ahmad said: “The OCA looks forward to working with the Global Esports Federation in serving the youth of Asia. “One of the big stories of our time is esports, and the OCA is pleased to join forces with the GEF to maximize the potential of esports, for good.”

The President of the Global Esports Federation, Chris Chan, said: “In partnering with the OCA, driven by the visionary leadership of its President and Executive Board, we acknowledge the depth and breadth of progressive innovation in this dynamic, youthful continent. Together, we will convene a partnership focused on advancing forward-thinking and future-oriented initiatives in service to athletes, players and youth. Launched in Singapore on 16 December 2019, the Global Esports Federation boldly draws from a multitude of views, observations and data from the both competitions and the esports community to inform its contribution to the development and revitalisation of the prominence and credibility of esports in society.As one of the largest global technology firms, Tencent is a vital strategic partner to the GEF.
