Stockholm – Leading gaming festival DreamHack, has announced a brand new open participation Fortnight tournament series for casual gamers. The DreamHack Open Featuring Fortnite series launches in July and will be streamed on Twitch during 2020 with monthly multiplayer tournaments for all of the EU, NA East and NA Western Fortnite servers. In 2020 a total of USD $1.75 million can be won – with a monthly prize pool of $250,000.
Michael Van Driel, Chief Product Officer at DreamHack Stated:“We had a tremendous experience hosting huge open participation Fortnite competitions at DreamHack Winter and DreamHack Anaheim just a few months ago. “While we aren’t currently hosting any mass gatherings, we’re very excited to produce what will assuredly be some amazing online events and we look forward to the future.”
The “DreamHack Open featuring Fortnite” tournament is a successor to the famous Fortnite fan tournaments at DreamHack Winter and DreamHack Anaheim, and this year it has the added benefit of being live streamed on Twitch. Fans can look forward both to high quality commentary and expert in-game observation courtesy of the seasoned professionals at DreamHack..
No invitations will be issued to the tournament as it will be open to fans across Europe and North America. The first event is set for 17-19 July and 24-26 July, and thereafter on a monthly basis, on Thursdays and Fridays, through to January 2021.
