World’s largest video game jobs platform, Hitmarker and the North America Scholastic Esports Federation (NASEF), a NGO with a mandate to provide opportunities for students to use esports to acquire STEM-based skills, have signed a partnership deal that will positively impact youths in Canada, Mexico, and USA.
NASEF seeks to utilize esport as a means for students to do much more than compete in video games and learn to develop personally and emotionally. Giving students insight into different job opportunities in the esports world forms a huge part of that, which makes Hitmarker a natural partner of NASEF.
The agreement will result in Hitmaker adding two bespoke esports jobs feed into the NASEF website, one will be for active paid internships for interested students to apply to immediately and the second will focus on longer-term career opportunities to both inform and inspire them. These additions will be an important part of the Career Pathways page on NASEF’s website.
Hitmarker will also help NASEF students with resume and cover letter reviews to allow them land jobs after successful applications. They will highlight them on social media to promote their skills to the wider industry and help them secure mentorship opportunities with professionals.
Furthermore, Hitmarker will give NASEF access to its proprietary data to improve the Federation’s educational content. Top members of the Hitmarker team will be invited to talk at NASEF events and to take part in one-to-one sessions with students on the Advisory Board.
The Managing Director of Hitmarker, Richard Huggan, commented that “After three years of hard work to establish Hitmarker, we’re finally in a position to start giving back to the industry, and are therefore delighted to announce NASEF as our first not-for-profit partner. “We’re admirers of NASEF and strong believers in their mission and we fully recognize the power of esports in education. As such, we look forward to working with them closely for the benefit of young people across North America.”
“Students engaged in NASEF programs learn and practice skills for careers within the high-growth esports ecosystem and related industries. This partnership with Hitmarker will help them see how many companies are hiring and for what jobs so they can prepare for their future,”
Gerald Solomon, Executive Director of the Samueli Foundation and Founder of NASEF also added that “It will also give them a place to find internships so they can start on their career trajectory right now. What an exciting time for these high schoolers!”
