RLCS 2024 Season Finally Confirmed

The new RLCS 2024 season has finally been confirmed! After much speculation and teasing from Rocket League Esports, the new season is ready to start on January 26th with the first open qualifier.

The announcement comes the day after fans were left more than a little annoyed by a rick rolling teaser posted to the official X account on January 9th.

New RLCS 2024 Format

According to the official blog post, the new RLCS 2024 season will have just 2 Majors as well as the World Championship, currently due to take place in September. The change has apparently been designed to help ensure the long term sustainability of the scene. This comes after the announcement that BLAST will take over the running of the RLCS in 2024.

With a confirmed global prize pool of $4,300,000, it seems teams will have fewer opportunities to win big. However, the prizes themselves are sure to be individually larger.

One aspect of the new format that has raised a few eyebrows is the amount of teams from each region that will be permitted at Majors. The same format will also apply for the World Championship.

  • North America: Top four teams
  • Europe: Top four teams
  • Middle East & North Africa: Top two teams
  • Oceania: Top two teams
  • South America: Top two teams
  • Asia-Pacific: Top team
  • Sub-Saharan Africa: Top team.

This certainly means the regional fight for RLCS points will be fierce. Both the NA and EU regions have dominated Rocket Lea
