Lately, Capcom has been on fire with announcing more details though. Most recently they’ve announced a brand-new tournament series. This will be the Street Fighter 6 New Challengers tournament.

In a recent Stream, Capcom have announced a new tournament series. Recently, they’ve been handing out extra details for events like the Street Fighter League, and more on the Capcom Cup. However, this new tournament will be an entirely separate stream of competitive SF 6. The new event is a team-based game which takes a different approach to competitive fighting.

Street Fighter 6 New Challengers Event Announced

This new tournament series is using a fresh format, but it’s one that’s already been pretty popular in other regions. The New Challengers tournament series actually stems from something that’s been going on virally with Street Fighter 6. Japanese tournament approached a different format which was more accessible for personalities and V-tubers. The format seeds teams of streamers getting coached by pro SF 6 players to fight each other They were a fun way to approach the game and Capcom took notice.

They’re looking to run the New Challengers event with the same format. Players will be organized into three different teams. Each team will be headed and coached by a fighting game pro. Then, they’ll face each other. They’ll compete with 10 points at stake for each match.

The teams announced for the tournament have some interesting names taking part. These are the players that are playing.
