KRÜ Esports now have a particularly unique designation, being owned by one of the biggest icons in all of sporting history. Messi Joins Kru Esports as Co-Owner
Kru Esports has had speculation over its ownership in recent months. Some believed that the current CEO and original founder of the org, Sergio Agüero was going to take a less active role in the team. However, instead we’ve learnt they’re adding another major name to the masthead. After ominously tweeting just messi just a few days ago, the org has made it official. The football icon has bought into KRÜ Esports as a co-owner.
KRÜ are one of the leading Argentinian esports orgs, especially with their Valorant squad. This lines it up perfectly for Messi’s involvement. KRÜ isn’t the only org with a traditional sports star on their board. Although, being co-owned by two huge names in football definitely elevates them.
KRÜ’s Future – Potential for Huge Expansion
It’s safe to say this news has generated a fair bit of hype for the team. More recently, the squad has had a bit more negative attention with rumours of players leaving for bigger money offers. Having such a high-profile sports star as Messi buy in might be a game changer though.
This could increase the team’s potential for sponsors, its pull-on major players, and its overall presence in the industry. Few expected KRÜ to answer the rumours of its founder stepping back by announcing an even bigger name becoming co-owner.
