A new Apex Legends event to rival the ALGS has just been announced but with a bit of a twist to its format. The HER Galaxy Apex Legends $100K Open series is a huge new event to try and bring more women into esports for the Battle Royale.
This is a lengthy tournament that’s going to be running for two whole months. It has a huge prize pool too, with $100,000 on offer for players across the event. This tournament joins recent woman’s only events for Rocket League and more in adding more opportunities for a wider base of players in esports.

HER Galaxy Tournament Series
The HER Galaxy Apex Legends $100K Open is the latest tournament in the HER Galaxy Tournament Series, which kicked off earlier this year. In total, there’s going to be a prize pool of $250,000 across all of the events. The current plans are to run seven different events in 2023, with an Apex Legends one happening soon. These will take place over 8 days of broadcasts spanning most of the year.
These events are limited to woman-identifying players. It gives them the chance to compete with other high-level players in a way that’s often not possible with the standard Apex Legends esports.
The Apex Legends tournament is being put on by Galaxy Racer and EA, as a woman’s Apex Legends alternative to the standard branch of competitive for the Battle Royale. Developers behind the game are also contributing, by adding $40K to the HER Galaxy Charity Creator Cup.
