Amidst the craze for more action from team OG, the “saviors” of DPC‘s Western European teams, other teams are stepping up to show their prowess. Tundra Esports and Gaimin Gladiators are looking towards the next major and potentially TI, but it seems we have completely overlooked the presence of other candidates at DPC WEU Tour 3, Team Secret and Entity.
Team Secret and Entity seek to build up in DPC Tour 3
What Team Secret and Entity have in common is that they are both bottom seeds of previous Tour’s Division 1 bracket. Not enough to demote them into Division 2, much like Nigma Galaxy or Brame, but it’s still a cause for concern.
Team Secret needs no introduction, being the International 1 Champion, and Clement “Puppey” Ivanov’s brainchild since leaving Natus Vincere. Puppey’s founded team has often made end’s meet, participating in majors and International championships annually. Yet, their performance at the recent DPC is by far their worst.
Entity, on the other hand, may not have much expectations on their shoulders, since they were initially from Division 2, and made the cut for the Tour 2. Nevertheless, surviving the Division 1 bracket at sixth place is nothing to brag about.
Changes in Team Secret
It’s not every day that we see Team Secret make a roster change midseason. Aware of the poor synergy, Syed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan stepped down for replacement.
Now, SumaiL is undoubtedly a phenomenal player in our books because of his mountain of accomplishments throughout his competitive career. Winning the International 5 and being runner-up in multiple more, are not feats to scoff at. Yet, it all boils down to praising Evil Geniuses for making their roster work with SumaiL. The prodigy is a very unorthodox player to fit into any roster, which is a justifiable argument since he already played for Quincy Crew, OG, and Team Secret with blunderful results.
Remco “Crystallis” Arets is Secret’s latest addition. The team is no stranger to nurturing and showcasing the spotlight on young blood, which eventually goes out to become phenomenal players. Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng, Michał “Nisha” Jankowski and Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard were all once Secreters.
It will be interesting to see how well Crystallis fairs up against the other WEU rivals at DPC WEU Tour 3, and if he is the winning ticket for them moving forward.
Pure joins Entity
Crystallis is formerly from Entity, so his debut in Team Secret meant there’s room for a new addition for Entity. Enters Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko, the young Russian player, formerly playing for Virtus.pro.
For the uninitiated, Pure became an infamous sensation after he drew the “Z” militarist symbol during an official DPC match. Although his teammates quickly realized the terrible decision and attempted to scribble over it, it was too late. The act Pure pulled unbeknownst of the consequences, ruined his career and even VP’s reputation. Valve disqualified VP from Tour 2 and the org also kicked Pure for obvious reasons. After that incident, many fans assumed that Pure has no future in the Dota 2 Esports for good.
Yet, Entity would not let a good player go to spoil. Pure quickly joined up and apologized publicly once more upon joining, citing that he hopes the community can look past his foolish mistake.
The Dota 2 community is divided on whether Pure deserves a second chance. Hence, our pinch of salt on the whole fiasco Pure brought upon himself.
