AMD, the world’s leading computer manufacturer has been announced as the official supplier of high-performance computer technology to SK Gaming, in light of the longstanding involvement of AMD and ATi in the World Cyber Games. Given the successful relationship between ATi and the premier esports team, the writing was on the wall for AMD.
Alexander T. Müller, managing director of SK Gaming said:

This is now official as CeBIT 2008 opens its doors. Anyone who may not believe they are welcome to visit SK right next to the Samsung Euro Championships in our booth in Hall 22. The SK partnerlineup completes 2008 and subsequent years with a combination of leading CPU and GPU technology.
In cooperation with SK’s new partner, at their first appearance and for the next 8 seasons, our CeBIT players will be sporting a new adidas clothing collection. It will be a race for the top spots as the likes of Sweden’s Counter Strike team and Warcraft 3 player Lyn compete at this year’s ESL Masters edition. Hero and Mario are top contenders for the Samsung Euro Championship title in FIFA while SK’s racer talents will be chasing BMW M4.
All in all, it was a smart and strategic choice for AMD and SK Gaming to enter the 2008 electronic sports season together.
