The body overseeing gaming activities in Detroit, Microaming Control Board has released minimum opening requirements for casinos in Detroit to ensure public health and safety is protected.
MGCB executive director, Richard S. Kalm mentioned that: “In compiling these minimum guidelines, we considered CDC recommendations, Nevada Gaming Board guidelines and information from the National Indian Gaming Commission. We required the casinos to propose reopening plans, and we consulted with the casino unions on the guidelines. We believe the guidelines will protect the public when it is safe to reopen the casinos.”
The minimum opening rules include:
1. The casinos should open only at 15% capacity
2 Entrance should be limited only to where temperature checks are carried out
3. No smoking on casino floor
4. All poker rooms closed
5. Cleaning protocols should be heightened
6. Social distancing must be ensured
The requirements will be implemented after the governor issues an order allowing the casinos to reopen.
