Boom.tv, a sports entertainment platform based in California’s Menlo Park, raised $10 million in Series A funding.
The round included the participation of Crest Capital, PTW, Everblue, ImaginationVC, MTG Media group, WTI and H. Bitkraft Esports Ventures. Tandem Capital, First Round Capital, CrossCut Ventures and Boost VC, Barton Asset Management and previous investors.
The funds are earmarked to fast-track investment in features and formats, superior programming development and intensive marketing.
Led by Sumit Gupta, CEO, Boom.tv delivers entertainment for the esport world to organize and broadcast gaming events, including content development, educational programs, and local leagues.
Since Boom.tv landed their first funding, the company has been moving in the direction of automating event development and to convene competitions by launching “Code Red”. The platform has collaborated with leading brands such as the Cash App and publishers, Epic Games, EA and Activision since 2018. “Code Red” has convened 30-plus pro-am series averaging 2.7 million exclusive viewers per event and routinely attracts audiences of 4-million viewers across a broad network of social media channels.
