Gfinity plc (AIM: GFIN), a global leader in gaming and esports, today announced a five-year agreement to design, advance, and deliver a new virtual motorsports (eSports) racing championship (ERC) with Abu Dhabi MotorSports Management (ADMM). Gfinity and ADMM will jointly own the ERC.
The ERC integrates the esport expertise from Gfinity with ADMM ‘s demonstrated capacity to produce world class experiences, such as the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and encourages continuous investment in innovative products and services that have established one of the region’s premium entertainment and motor racing brands.
The ERC concept designed by Gfinity, is based on a unique, ground-breaking format not seen in virtual racing before, showcase the speediest model racing drivers, with a digital motorsport-aligned roster of teams. The championship will comprise of two seasons per calendar year, with the first season coming into effect in 2020. The races, hosted by Gfinity will allow drivers to join remotely from around the world, participating in these esport races, driving a custom-designed, single-seater car.
Gfinity ‘s exclusive technology and Race Management system will be used for in- race adjudications and data streams to provide drivers and car performance enthusiasts with new perceptions and experiences. The innovative model is built to focus on the increasing demand for digital motorsport from international broadcasters by supplying several hours of innovative programming to a wide range of broadcasting partners, with new digital ERC platforms that optimize global viewers and business opportunities.
The terms of the joint Agreement stipulates that Gfinity will provide unique, professional services to the ERC, which will include, amongst others, production and tournament procedures. ADMM and Gfinity jointly take responsibility for commercialising the ERC.
The Gfinity Digital Media group will collaborate with ADMM’s marketing and social media teams to develop the new ground-breaking channels as well as a global community of racing enthusiasts and supporters under the ERC brand, supported and promoted by Gfinity’s existing 11million global gaming community users across gfinityesports.com, realsport101.com, stealthoptional.com, realgaming101.es and realgaming101.pt. these new advancements will be supported by the 100% Arabic language site www.RealGaming101.me, targeting more than 93 million gaming enthusiasts in the MENA region, created by Gfinity during April 2020, in collaboration with YaLLa Esports.
