EPOS, a world-leading pioneer in sophisticated audio solutions and technologies, today announced its partnership with Riot Games as the formal partner of the foremost esport league in the region, Oceanic Pro League (OPL).

Maja Frølunde Sand-Grimnitz, Head of Global Marketing, Gaming for EPOS commented on the partnership, “EPOS strives to unleash human potential and give gaming another dimension through powerful audio solutions and we are very excited to be working with Riot Games. As a business, we bring 115 years of audio expertise to the OPL partnership and we want to enhance the league by delivering our state-of-the-art audio equipment to ensure a high-end audio experience for all involved.”

Daniel Ringland, Head of Riot Games in Oceania, said in his statement: “The continued growth of the OPL in Split 1 was fantastic to see and we are thrilled to bring EPOS on board as an Official Partner to support and enhance the OPL. As a business we want to work with leaders in their field and when it comes to Audio, EPOS has incredible technology and products that will deliver an exceptional audio performance to the league.”

The OPL experienced excellent audience growth during Split 1 (January 31 – April 24) despite the unique circumstances with the global COVID-19 pandemic with average local audience daily viewership per game rising by 116% during the season translating into optimal growth at 239% in the last Split month.

The partnership with EPOS comes at a unique time when audio quality and clarity were never more crucial for the team dynamic when participating remotely. EPOS and Riot Games are set to work closely together during the period of the partnership to provide world-class, superior audio experiences and to find new ways in which OPL fans can participate.

The split 2 of the OPL starts on Friday, 5 June at 4 pm AEST on watch.lolesports.com, where viewers will be entertained by  eight (8) teams competing not only for the local title, but also for one of the most sought-after spots at the prestigious 2020 League of Legends World Championship that takes place in China later during the year.
