BLAST realises €12.5M in a funding round

BLAS,T Danish competition coordinator has finished raising a fund campaign, and the body has realized a whopping aggregate of €12.5 million (£11.1 million).

The funding campaign was spearheaded by the likes of Johan Gedda, the CEO and Co-founder of Rocket software, and Vækstfonden, of the Danish investment fund.

The campaign also witnessed the likes of European venture capital firms Creandum, Heartcore, and Maki, whose further investment brought down the curtain. These firms are already an investor with the Danish investment company.

Gedda talked about the choice to put investment into a release, “The opportunity to combine and create a deeper technology stack that will evolve the future of esports is one of the reasons I am pleased to partner with BLAST. I am impressed by their plans and look forward to leveraging my experience in the technology space to help grow this exciting and fast-moving business.”

The conditions made by the continuous COVID-19 pandemic haven’t prevented BLAST from proceeding to serve the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive community, to come up with a competition online BLAST Rising in April. The organization declared its participation in Dota 2 prior this month through BLAST Bounty Hunt, an online competition with the contribution of various high profile teams.

“We have watched the leadership position taken by BLAST across the esports industry in Europe and beyond, and we are proud to support a European growth company as it moves to its next stage,” said Erik BalckSørensen, Partner of Vækstfonden.

BLAST has gone from solidarity to quality after leaving behind Astralis Group, where two organizations were housed under RFRSH Entertainment. It has worked admirably in making new events and unique content programming during extreme conditions. So we’re charmed to perceive what’s straightaway, particularly with huge support, such as what we have now, someone from Esport Insider remarked.
