Activities at Holland Casino on Hold till September

Holland Casino has been given extra months closing time by the Dutch government as it has been told all operation at it club would not resume until the first of September.

The betting industry is one of few industries in the Netherlands that has been told to keep its door shut until that date, which amounts to a six-month closure altogether, which has resulted in over 8,000 agents staying at home for quite a long time.

Holland Casino and land-based gaming industry affiliation VAN Kansspelen have gotten the memo taken by the Dutch government to a reviving of the casino clubs by September 1.

Being one of the few divisions in our nation, they need to keep their club’s door shut for no less than a half year, with all its consequences, and also with its players no place to go.

The supplying section of this gambling industry is likewise heavily hit by the closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The result of such an extended closure has posed significant dangers since players currently need to look for other means from criminal operations both on location and on the web. As of late, the police have had to intervene hard in different parts of the country.

The CEO of Holland Casino, Erwin Lambaart, made these remarks, “The long lock hold of the whole sector is in our view, irresponsible given our society providing safe and responsible Gaming. It causes enormous economic damage to the entire sector. We understand that we should not be the first to open again, but to remain closed for another 4 months is really unwise and unnecessary. We are ready by June 1 at the latest to be able to open our branches fully responsibly in accordance with government guidelines.”

Additionally, the Chairman of VAN Kansspelen, Frits Huffnagel, registered his displeasure, “We are very disappointed with the news that the entertainment centers may only open on September 1. Recently, a lot of work has been done on an extensive protocol to open quickly again. In addition, there has been intensive contact with various ministries. It seems like last night’s decision was made based on insufficient knowledge of the sector. The generosity promised in the press conference is only sufficient if 100% of the costs are reimbursed. We have little confidence that this will also be the offer. We can open responsibly again, as advised by the Ministries of Justice and Security and Economic Affairs.”
