The gaming industry unites against Corona: Stay Safe! Jam announced!

One subject has dominated the global headlines for weeks: the Corona virus. The gaming industry is now joining forces and coordinating the Stay Safe together in the fight against the Stay Safe! Jam launched by NUKKLEAR, from 27th to 29th March. A Game Jam like never before seen.

A Game Jam typically brings game developers together at one location to collaborate in various teams in a very short time to design and create a game. However, since science, social responsibility, and common sense preclude large crowds from gathering in Corona times, the Stay Safe! Jam is intended to inspire game developers around the world to remain at home, create a game within 48 hours and then actively participateIn battling the virus … Kirk Lenke on Stay Safe at NUKKLEAR! Jam:

It’s always necessary to have coherence. But it is much more the critical during times of the Corona virus. All should do their bit to change the status quo during this exceptional situation. Staying home is the most important thing so that virus transmission slows down. Just because you’re in your home doesn’t mean you can’t be imaginative. This is the principle idea behind the Stay Safe! Jam, launched just last Thursday, based on an idea from Jan Cosfeld our Art Director at NUKKLEAR.

Stay Safe! Jam is a Game Jam that targets all developers of games who want to set an example with us. The current crisis as a theme (the exact slogan will be revealed shortly before the start) allows for varied and imaginative solutions, be they very concrete or abstract, serious or humorous or in a totally different way: make something out of it and turn your feelings about the current situation into a game.

To us, this is the first time we do a Game Jam and we are working at full speed on everything that can make a smooth process possible.

The Jam will take place from 27th to 29th March and we look forward to receiving as many registrations as possible.

Philipp Döschl from FDG Entertainment adds ‘from the first moment I heard of the idea, I fell in love with it and new we have to support it as much as we can! We’re all going through tough times right now and giving back at least a little bit of social life is a great gift in these days. I’m looking forward to the cool games people will come up with next weekend!’

FDG Entertainment is a proud sponsor of Stay Safe! Jam along with companies such as Bethesda, Ubisoft, Crytek, Wargaming or Devolver and will award the Jam participants prizes.
