At Psyonix we take very seriously the health of our professional players, fans and staff. We are canceling the Rocket League Season 9 World Championship live event in Dallas , Texas, due to global safety issues concerning the emerging situation around the Coronavirus (COVID-19), as planned from April 24-26. We understand this is unsatisfactory but health and safety will always be of utmost importance.
For fans who purchased tickets through the ETIX website to attend the event at
the Curtis Culwell Center, your card will automatically be refunded in full including all fees. Any fans who have pre-purchased parking passes will now receive an instant refund. If you have not received a refund by Wednesday 11 March, you can email support@etix.com at ETIX support. If you have bought a ticket from a third-party seller, please contact them directly with your request for a refund. With regards to the previously reported in-game player Wheel in April, we will email codes (one per ticket) to those that bought tickets via ETIX.
The rest of Season 9 League Play for the Rocket League Championship Series
(RLCS) will be played as planned for the Regional Championships and Promotion Competition. We’re reviewing all options for replacing play at the World Championship. We’ll update you once we have more information to share.
Our weekly coverage for RLCS and the Rival Series will still be subject to change.
As our broadcast talent’s health and well-being is always top priority, we will switch the show online for the rest of the season beginning next week.
You will also still be able to watch RLCS and Rival Series matches as on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays as nomal, but the broadcast talent will not be in-studio.In addition, we are working actively with our partners in Oceania and South America to ensure the health and safety of players and staff there as well and we will be sharing updates accordingly.
As described above, the safety and wellbeing
of our professional players, staff and fans will continue to be our first priority as we consider our future plans. Thank you for your support and flexibility, while we discuss the best way forward. We are also looking forward to delivering the highest level of professional Rocket League for fans around the world and we hope you can join us when we move online to Season 9.
